We are seeking good people to come change the world with us to protect young kids on the web, all will become clear when we talk further, suffice to say this is a big media distribution play and we are looking for people who can continue the good start the founders have in motion already. You need to be familiar with the media industry and able to do your own planning because you won’t get a PA till you can afford one!

3 x Project Managers

Can you keep clients happy? Are you a real ‘people person’? Have you got at least 3 years experience in managing large projects for cool companies? Then you, my friend, may be just what we’re looking for.
We’re on the lookout for 3 Project managers to facilitate the smooth completion of browser/web technology based projects for people like Disney, Yahoo, Pay-Pal and others. So if you’re a go-getter jet-setter who can manage people on either side of the client relationship then drop us a line.
Your role will be to assist business development briefs with our TGW project with the ability to then take charge of the project and deliver client distributions on time and on budget.
International travel should not be an issue for you as you’ll have to go visit brands in New York a lot and we expect you’ll end up all over the place, so the successful candidate needs not to have a huge dislike of airport departure lounges ;)
Creative Illustrator

Glaxstar are on the look out for a Creative Illustrator to join out team of highly skilled individuals (a-hem). We’re looking for someone who’s visually aware, knows how to communicate an idea and who’s not averse to creating something unexpected.
You will of course be a whizz on the mac with Quark, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop. Fireworks and some knowledge of what’s expected (or indeed possible) from a xhtml web layout would be advantageous.
Your role will be primarily involved with our Firefox based project to build the safe Internet for kids, codename TGW, it would be a darn site easier if we could tell you about it here as you’ll be working on creative briefs for project assets and you’ll be working on some pretty amazing distribution client briefs, so an ability to avoid stage fright when meeting some big-brand creative directors would be an advantage.
On a technical note, the role has a requirement for art-working and print deployment, so previous experience with setting files for print and print buying are a big plus.
Flash Developer

We’re looking for a Flash Developer extraordinaire! The ideal candidate will be adept at Actionscript 1 and 2, possess the skills to create some killer animations, and work with vectorized assets created by others.
You’ll be working on some exciting stuff for web and other media (cd’s, installers, etc) for our big Firefox based product for some big names, so being able to follow art direction and story boards is a must.
Web Developer
Birmingham UK
We need a Web Developer with an eye for detail and a passion for usability. Our guy or gal needs to be an expert php developer, amazing at Javascript, breathtaking with AJAX, and be second-to-none with all the usual requirements for a web developer (such as apache server, MySQL, if you’re in the know you’ll have all these anyway).
As our developer, you’ll be expected to take on pre-coded xhtml/css pages and make them work, intuitively and smoothly. To take direction from the designer(s) and tell them straight when it just wont work that way.
Xul programmer(s)
Ideally you will already hold a Masters in computer science. Alternatively you will posses a degree and have working experience with C++ or Java. Experience with XUL, Javascript and knowledge of XBL would be an advantage. A Six week induction training program during is provided to get you up to speed with Glaxstar engineering team. Remote working available, all work is carried out under full time contract basis under NDA.

Come September 2007 we’ll be looking for 3 experienced account directors to take of the ongoing relations with our prestigious clients. If you have the skills you think we’re looking for then why not get in early?
Rails engineer and XUL Jedi

Glubble.com, Joga.com (Google/Nike), Official del.icio.us 1.0 add-on and Yahoo! del.icio.us 2.0 and more recently the eBay Firefox companion are all examples of high-profile projects Glaxstar has been involved in authoring. We maintain a close contributing relationship with Mozilla and continue to develop/support spreadfirefox.com where Glaxstar founder, Ian Hayward is lead admin. We're looking for a Rails engineer and XUL Jedi with great skills and attention to detail. Qualifications: hacker, builder, tester, breaker, fixer. Demonstrable experience in creating FIREFOX (XUL) add-ons would be very beneficial, alternatively top flight c++ or Java experience would enable you to combat our in-house XUL training program. Experience developing with RUBY ON RAILS would get you a gold star too. You'll not be afraid of getting down and dirty with servers, scripts, and building your own tools. Enthusiasm for an entrepreneurial startup environment. Love for kids and mankind in general.
