Day two downloads

Day two and thanks to you, we’ve doubled the downloads from day one to now 2000+

To date Zoep has had a 1000+ downloads from Mozilla Addons site and 1400+ downloads from Glaxstar site so it’s already on the way to 3000!

Let’s keep it up and show the world what a rockin’ platform Mozilla Firefox really is; innovation, freedom and choice. What a combination!

Tell friends and family to get themselves a good username registered early. It’s a great opportunity to get in at the start of the future of “open-network” Internet phone calls with Firefox.

I find it extremely dissappointing that your product only works on Microshaft Windows! What about Linux and Mac?!?

Hey Mike :) I feel ya!

You’ve got it easy, we have to develop on it, yuk! (hugs 17” power book – yum)

But listen there’s method in the madness right? We’re a small team and we’ve only got one budget from our client Voipster (who are nice people) that means that we’ve had to work smart and develop Zoep for Firefox up to 1.0 on “Microshaft” (while holding each others noses as we code) so that we can ship on the most “popular” (aka widely pushed) OS till we’ve ironed out all the bugs on to 1.0 then it’s Mac & Linux time Yeh!

The extension has an XPCOM wrapper what will be written for Mac & Linux all in good time:) till then you can install the extension and look at the sign in screen if you want, that’s what I do on my Mac but it doesn’t help:)

Anyway, all good things come to he who waits yes?

To day I’ll add to my Mac comments by saying cross-platform support is of course #1 priority now we’ve launched, we just had to launch this week to co-inside with Etel conference in San Francisco where Voipster were one of the sponsors of the event.

We’ll have definitive roll out dates for Mac & Linux next week. Personally as a Mac + Firefox user myself I can’t wait till we do, and a couple of our Engineers are Linux-heads so it’ll save us some internal flack too.
