When I try to sign up it says username taken. I put in JTLovin, JakTylr, JakeLovin, and asdfasdfjkl just to see what the problem was. Im pretty sure that the usernames aren’t taken. Any ideas? Thanks, this seems like an ingenious extension for Firefox.

Thanks Dizzle
We really appreciate the feedback it’s kind of you to take time to help
syadmins are on the case it’s a problem with the back end account management server (AMS) we think it’s only recently started to happen it should be fixed in a very short space of time!
I can image how frustrating it may be and it’s a credit to the Firefox community that we can get good feedback like this helping us along
Thanks everyone we’d have probably not noticed this problem for hours without you guys giving us the heads up, you rock!
January 26th, 2006 at 9:32 am
it’s working fine, but, when I open second window of firefox, on that second window is staus of zoep not active, not sign in.
So, i have opened 2 window with different status of zoep.
Can it be fixed?
January 26th, 2006 at 9:40 am
@ zvonimir
This is not a bug I’m gald to say but instead it’s a “work in progress” because version 0.8.1 does not yet work in multiple windows, sorry we should have made that clear.
It is the next thing we are working on now but I’m glad to say we have it all figured out how to do (quite hard to do) it’s just that we wanted to ship the extension rather than wait for multiple window support.
We’ll be posting the roadmap later today so things like this should be clearer.
Thanks for the feedback!

OKi, the registration is OK again. Sorry for troubles…

Still can’t log in in 0.8.1: “Can’t connect to Zoep Server. Please check your Internet connection”
Internetconnection is OK, I can even create new Zoep-Accounts, so the connection to your servers is working.
Hope you can fix this - I’d really like to try zoep out
OS: win xp sp2
FF: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005111116

Hi Gregor
-would you mind uninstalling the extension?
-then closing down all Firefox browsers on your machine
-then re-installing 0.8.1 from either Glaxstar site or Mozilla
-then re-try to sign in please?
Can you also confirm your not using a nightly build of Firefox and that you are using the latest public release from mozill.com site?
Thanks

@ gregor,
What is your network environment? Some very strict firewalls? Basically you need outgoing TCP to be enabled on port 5223 (secure Jabber communication)
January 26th, 2006 at 1:17 pm
@Ian & @Indrek
thanks for your help, however:
connection problem confirmed under new clean profile (no other extensions installed), even with direct connection to the internet (can choose between proxy and direct) and firewall & antivirus completely disabled;
FF is indeed an official build direclty from mozilla
January 26th, 2006 at 1:22 pm
Here are the requirments for firewall described:
http://trac.web1.openzoep.org/main/wiki/MiniamlFirewallRequiremens
We will work on these to better suit strict (typical coroporate) firewalls, so in the future you’ll have to open outgoing traffic only for:
85.158.201/24 TCP 443
85.158.201/24 UDP > 1024
January 26th, 2006 at 1:24 pm
ok gregor, what do you get upon telnet jabber.voipster.com 5223 ? Is the connection established?
January 26th, 2006 at 1:33 pm
hi Indrek,
I’ve added rules to my firewall according to the requirements, same results as before; (obviously, as even completely /disabling/ the firewall didn’t help)
telnet connection with jabber.voipster.com on 5223 works fine…
January 26th, 2006 at 2:57 pm
there is log_session.txt in your firefox directory (program Files\mozilla Firefox). This is pure text file. Do you see there word error in it?
January 26th, 2006 at 3:51 pm
indeed I do;
c&p from the 1st timestamp with an error:
—snip—
16:58:44 [session] [Thread 2476] id=2 get_response: gregorsubsystem exception (presence):
Expression 'transport_->is_connected()' failed in 'C:\Work\Zoep\main\src\voipster\api\presence\presence1q.cpp', line: 437
16:58:44 [session] [Thread 2476] id=2 stopped…
—snap—
if it helps i can mail the complete logfile, but up until the posted time everything seems to work out fine…
January 26th, 2006 at 3:54 pm
ahem…
your blog seems unable to cope with the tags of the logfile (at least i don’t see them in the previous post) - so it might be better if I mailed you the file…
January 26th, 2006 at 5:42 pm
Hi, still having the connection problem, however I tried to telnet to jabber.voipster.com on 5223 and I can’t connect so I suspect my corp firewall is blocking me.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
Thnx Gregor, please send the log file (also client.xml and server.xml from the same directory) to [email protected]…
January 26th, 2006 at 6:26 pm
@ Scott,
yes, when TCP to 5223 is closed there is nothing we can do at the moment :(.
We are adding a “self-test” feature, so user will get better feedback about problems in his network environment.
January 27th, 2006 at 7:11 am
when the “self-test” will be available ?
i am getting an error saying “this object has no propeties”
January 27th, 2006 at 12:08 pm
@ athula
I think the “this.object” is not connected problems in network. Something wrong with XPCOM registration…

I can’t create a password it says invalid password when I enter uppercase and lower case characters and a digit it shows Invalid number. i have problem creating password.
February 1st, 2006 at 2:39 pm
@ cavous
Password requires 6-15 characters including at least 1 uppercase and lowercase character, and 1 digit, whereas allowed characters are ‘A-Z, a-z, 0-9′. For instance, the password ‘Mypass1’ will be accepted by the system, since it is 7 characters long and it includes at least 1 upper and lower character, and 1 digit.
Under which username you tried to register yourself? If we knew, we could track what you did wrong while creating an account.
